WHO CAN COMPETE FOR THE TITLE OF UGA'S TOP ENTREPRENEUR?

The Entrepreneurship Program invites students in every major or discipline at the University of Georgia to learn how to turn their ideas into a profitable future as an entrepreneur.   This contest offers a chance for students to fulfill a dream of owning their own future, whether they already have a business idea or want to learn how to craft a profitable venture.  Finalists will get their shot at winning in prize money, as well as pitching their ideas to prominent venture capitalists.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

The contest is limited to only 400 qualified respondents.  Applicants can reserve their opportunity to win money and become UGA’s Next Top Entrepreneur by registering now with Stephen Rosenberg at entrprnr@uga.edu or visiting the UGA Next Top Entrepreneur page on Facebook. Or paste the following link into your browswer:

HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?

All participants will receive a Certificate in Business Planning after completing the seminar series, and will have the chance to network and pitch their ideas to seasoned entrepreneurs, angel investors, and venture capitalists.  They also will compete head-to-head while crafting business models, pitching their ideas, and convincing investors that they should be UGA’s Next Top Entrepreneur.

The prize money for the contest will be contributed by Rob Beardon of Benchmark Capital, a venture capital firm headquartered in Silicon Valley.  Mr. Beardon, a strong supporter of the Terry College of Business Entrepreneurship Program, will also help teach and mentor students. “I am excited to be a part of this event and very pleased with the direction University of Georgia is taking to develop successful entrepreneurs,” Beardon said.
